I am Jill. I am a trained therapeutic, person-centred counsellor.
In a former life though, I was a teacher.
As the years passed, I found myself really enjoying the supportive elements that I was engaging in - and that was working with people. Over time it became more fulfilling, so much so that I decided to retrain and become a therapist full time. It was a natural transition and I found my right place!

Fast forward to today, I have over 100 hours of clinical experience and I am an approved BACP practitioner (British Association of counsellors and psychotherapists). This means I am bound by an Ethical framework to keep clients and myself safe.

Through my lived experience of parenting a child with complex special needs alongside working within the SEN support services, I have gained perspective on slowing down and staying present. This is at the centre of the work I offer clients.

While I work in private practice I continue to train further, to inform my practice with up to date knowledge and insights.
It will be a pleasure to know how I can support you.
I look forward to meeting you in Room2

The Sessions
How it works
We start with an initial consultation where we explore what brings you to counselling and what you wish to gain from it. It will give you an opportunity to meet me, see how I work and see if I am the right practitioner for you.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and can take place in the therapy space shown above or I can offer online sessions if that is more accessible for you.
I also offer short term and open-ended (longer term) counselling.
Commitment to regular sessions will enable safety for you while you begin to travel deeper into underlying issues. The contract we draw can be ended when you are ready to end the counselling.
